Rain & Cancellation Policy

We only announce a cancelled show around 3:30 pm as the forecast can change really quickly.

Our Shakespeare-in-the-Park tour is designed to be performed outdoors. We do have alternate indoor locations for most of our parks. These are all in walking distance of their respective parks. Indoor alternatives are not available at every park. For that reason, we make every effort to perform outdoors. The show will be cancelled only in case of heavy rain and/or thunderstorms that render it unsafe for our actors (and crew) to be on stage (and unpleasant for our audience to watch!).

If we only have light rain, the show will go on, though we may take breaks to dry the stage, as needed.

We are constantly monitoring satellite weather images to see how a storm is moving. With very few exceptions, we always set up outdoors and are ready to perform. To give you a clearer idea, in 2018, we had 30 shows scheduled, we cancelled one. We had the similar records in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 . So come with a rain coat, an umbrella, bug spray, a blanket, and a big smile. We will regularly update our phone lines as well as our website and social media channels with updated weather information so be sure to follow us on:
