A Midwinter's Dream Holiday Campaign

“How far that little candle throws his beams!” The Merchant of Venice 5.1

We’re holding a Midwinter’s Dream Holiday Campaign to help us be able to bring Shakespeare-in-the-Park to glorious life next summer.  Last year, our donors stepped up in a giant way, far surpassing our fundraising objective. If you gave last year: thank you! We hope you’ll be able to do so again this year. This year, we’re running a month-long campaign, and we’re calling on Repercussion fans and supporters to contribute to our goal of raising $10,000.
Yes, we’re dreaming big.

We’re dreaming of next summer’s Shakespeare-in-the-Park tour, and individual donations are a critical part of being able to make those dreams a reality. The last two years have been exceptionally challenging for everyone, including performing arts organizations like ours. For Repercussion, the summer is when we normally collect donations directly from our audience members, in person, at our various performance locations. But that hasn’t been able to happen for two full summers, making these kinds of virtual donation drives all the more vital.

If you find yourself in a position to give, we hope that you’ll consider generously supporting Repercussion, and Shakespeare-in-the-Park, by contributing to our campaign (using the form conveniently located on this page), engaging with the content we’ll be rolling out over our social media streams throughout the campaign, and sharing our drive with your friends and fellow arts-lovers.

For over 30 years, Repercussion Theatre has been giving emerging theatre-makers their first professional gig as part of our Shakespeare-in-the-Park tour. It’s not hyperbole to say we’ve helped to kickstart hundreds of careers.

Our alumni have gone on to work in and lead theatres across the country, as well as in television, film, circus, the video game industry, and much more.

In the company’s early years, the entire cast and crew were often composed of recent theatre school graduates. Now we focus on bringing together established and emerging artists, to provide meaningful mentorship opportunities and to allow everyone to learn from each other. But young talent is still at the heart of what we do, and we hire 10-20 emerging artists and production personnel every summer.

For so many of them, working with us is just the beginning – and we’re so proud when we get to say, “We knew them when…”

We are passionate about potential. We love taking a chance on new talent. And we are proud to be the first step in so many long careers.
