Professional Shakespeare Training - Level 2
Due to popular demand and the success of its previous Professional Shakespeare Training courses, Repercussion Theatre offers, this spring, an advanced course for professional actors and drama teachers who wish to pursue their Shakespeare acting training. Taught by Rea Nolan and Peter Farbridge, this course will offer professionals the opportunity to delve deep into scene work and get a Shakespeare scene on its feet. At the end of the course, students will present their scene in front of an audience.
Professional Shakespeare Training (level 2) – with Rea Nolan and Peter Farbridge
Duration: 5 weeks (30 hours), March 19 to April 19, 2008 with a special Saturday night presentation on April 19
Time: Wednesdays 7:00-10:00pm and Sundays 3:00-6:00pm
Cost: $360 (taxes extra)
Prerequisite: Professional Shakespeare Training – Level 1 or professional Shakespeare acting experience. Those who wish to take this course based on their professional acting experience must first call to arrange a meeting with Repercussion Theatre’s Artistic Director, Paul Hopkins, who will assess their level of experience.
OUR COACHES
Peter Farbridge
Peter Farbridge has been acting professionally for 20 years in Montreal and Toronto, most notably with Modern Times Stage Company of Toronto. Through the work of Modern Times, as well as through training at the Stratford Festival and Shakespeare and Co. (Massachusetts), Peter has developed a personal approach to Shakespearean text that emphasizes freeing the actor's body. He has taught in various institutions, EMSPA (Kingston, Jamaica) Opera McGill (Montreal), ESTHEM (Montreal) and continues to give private workshops in Shakespeare and monologue.
Rea Nolan
Rea currently teaches voice in the Theatre Departments at John Abbott College and at Concordia University. She holds a BFA in Theatre Performance from Concordia University, and an MA in Voice Studies from the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, England. During her graduate degree, she worked with Cicely Berry, Voice Director at the Royal Shakespeare Company in England.
