The Tempest
By: William Shakespeare
“What if you had magical powers and could do whatever you wanted? And,
what if everyone who had ever betrayed you was stranded on your tropical island?
Oh, the fun you could have! But, what if your daughter was watching…
William Shakespeare's most celebrated fantasy, The Tempest, is a mystical tale of revenge,
love and the quest for power, filled with music, comedy and mystical spirits.”
- Paul Hopkins, Artistic Director
Synopsis:
Prospero, the Duke of Milan, is exiled with his daughter to an island filled with ethereal
spirits and grotesque creatures. After years of mastering the island’s magical powers,
he conjures a perfect storm – a tempest – to draw his ship-bound enemies into his realm
of enchantment and mystery.
The Tempest is a classic play that bewitches audiences with its spell of
romance, comedy and the supernatural. Presented under a canopy of stars, the
performance will weave all of Shakespeare’s theatrical magnificence into an
entertaining tale of one man’s struggle between his desire for revenge and
his love for his daughter.
