Repercussion Theatre Announces New General Manager
May 02, 2011
Repercussion Theatre company is thrilled to announce that theatre and visual arts expert Kym Brennan has assumed position of general manager.
The addition of Brennan to Repercussion will allow former general manager and artistic director Paul Hopkins to concentrate on the company’s artistic direction. Brennan’s role will be to promote the company’s vision and focus on the administration.
“After coping with limited staff for the past few years, we’re finally in a position to strengthen the management of the company,” said Hopkins. “And Kym is the perfect person to help us do that.”
Brennan, a graduate from the National Theatre School, has been actively involved in theatre production for more than a decade. Her previous experience includes working as a production assistant for the Festival de théâtre des amériques, being the general and production manager for Théâtre Harpagon, and working for the Centre d’art et de diffusion Clark as their administrative director.
“I chose Repercussion because it brings a usually very effective art to people in their everyday lives, in their park, in their backyards, and I think it’s a great cause,” said Brennan, a native Montrealer who at a young age attended Repercussion performances herself.
“I believe it’s a form of art and it’s actually possible to touch people’s lives through theatre … even teenagers who are just sitting in the park and stay, if they come out of that park seeing life a tiny little bit different, well I think we’ve done our job.”
